BOHO Mast Extender

The Boho Windsurfing mast extension is designed—just like their mast and boom—for raceboard and longboard windsurfing with larger sails. Because of that, it has several characteristics that differ from standard mast extensions.

 1. Large adjustment range (suitable for big sails)

Raceboard sails often have a large luff lengt* (mast + extension combined). Therefore, a longer extension is used to adjust the mast to the exact required length.

A mast extension is used to compensate for the difference between the mast length and the sail’s luff length.

Advantages:

* suitable for *7.5 – 9.5 m² raceboard sails*
* reduces the need for multiple mast sizes.

 2. Very stiff and strong

Large sails require significant downhaul tension. For that reason, raceboard extensions are often:

* thicker-walled
* stiffer
* less prone to torsion

This helps the sail maintain its designed shape under high load and wind pressure.

 3. Precise trim adjustments

A good mast extension has many adjustment positions (holes or settings).

Advantages:

* precise control of sail tension
* small adjustments possible when wind conditions change.
